Biography

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in Alexander Westermann’s HOPI lab in Würzburg, Germany.

I did my PhD at the University of Birmingham in the Grainger Lab studying gene transcription in the bacterial pathogen Vibrio cholerae and then a postdoc in Felipe Cava’s group at Umeå University, Sweden.

I graduated from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh in 2016 with a BSc in Biological Sciences.

Genome-wide mapping of Vibrio cholerae VpsT binding identifies a mechanism for c-di-GMP homeostasis

Many bacteria use cyclic dimeric guanosine monophosphate (c-di-GMP) to control changes in lifestyle. In this work, we have mapped the genome-wide distribution of VpsT, a c-di-GMP sensitive transcription factor, in a search for further regulatory roles in V. cholerae.
